I had not realised that the birds were so nosey? The whole aviary seems exited at the birth of these two chicks.

Thursday 17 June

Eyes are fully opened.
They have trebled in size since they hatched.
there is more control over their necks and heads, they are just managing to support their own weight. The poor things look ugly at this stage.

Friday 18 June

They are developing really quickly.
When you first look in the nest box, the chicks are always huddled together.
Jack when stretched out, towers over his Mum.
Betty just squeeks louder. Sunday 13 June
Watched Cheeky feeding the chicks.
They both have a mohecan white stripe down their heads.

Monday 14 June
Just a quick peak, both seem O.K
no further movement from the eggs, I do not think they will hatch at this late stage.

Tuesday 15 June
The chicks are thriving. They look bigger and stronger.
They seem to have grey pin feathers on their wings.
Tom is all puffed up, like the proud Father that he is.

Wednesday 26 June.

Remaining eggs removed , they are not going to hatch now.
It looks like their eyes are beginning to open.
They always have full crops.
Both Cheeky and Tom appear to be coping ok.
When the chicks cry to be fed their Grandparents fly across to the door to watch over the proceedings. Ollie ,Cheeky's Father is at the door evey time the chicks get loud.At this stage the chicks are very loud for 7 days old.Even Cheekys brother and sister fly across to have a look, the two cockatiels like to join in as well.

Tom is very attentive to the chicks.
They seem to be bald all over except their wings and round their bums which have grey and blue pin feathers.

Saturday 19 June

They can now move around the nest box.
Jack sounds like he has cloggs on.
Jack is quite docile and Betty is quite dominant.
Grey, blue, black pin feathers on wings.. Is growing daily. Neither chick is bothered when picked up.
