On a sunny Sunday morning reading my newspaper,drinking tea (my favourite hobby)and being lazy (as usual) my hubby Paul(from now on to be known as he)put his head round the door and said "we have two chicks"." oh lovely"I said " I didnt realise that our Kakarikis were sitting on any eggs"."They aren't"he says."Its Tom and Cheeky".Well I thought i'd better ring for the doctor ,he's really lost the plot,I mean a smallish bird and a large bird like Tom!never in this world."Sit down love and I will make you a coffee.I think that you have been in the sun for too long"."I AM NOT JOKING,come and see for yourself".I didn't need telling twice.
Still in my dressing gown we make our way to the aviary.Inside the nest box there were two grey balls of fluff and a further three eggs and a proud mother.
You would think that it was us that had got a new child,the day past at speed and all we had done is talk about the chicks.
The mind boggles as to HOW,but they did and we have their offspring as proof.
Since this day we have taken photo's written a daily diary and video their every move.
